Halong Bay Cruise Report – in Instagram Photos

Do you use Instagram? Why or why not?

It was sensational. It was a huge trend ever since it launched, and it is still going strong. The reason? People love it because of its simplicity and creativity. I guess the basic is simple; anyone creates art and anyone can enjoy it. I thought about it when I thought about photos that I like. Of course the great photography inspires me, but the experience behind is more important. That’s why I think travel photography is quite different than just ‘photography’. In the same sense, Instagram is a great way to document the life on the road. On the top of that, it makes your photo pretty, so why not?

I had a discussion about Instagram with my friend who is quite a devoted photographer. She didn’t really like the app because it was ruining photographer’s integrity. Her signature photo editing skill is happen to be really similar as what Instagram offers. She’s doing everything by Photoshop and she took her step for a long time to build her brand, but now all you need to do is press a button in the app. I understood her point of view.

For me, I just started using it mainly because of document my recent press trip to Halong Bay. And? I’m loving it. Art doesn’t have to be serious, and art can be created by anyone. It’s easy, it’s fun and it’s simple. Also as a blogger, I found out it was a great way to interact with readers and fellow bloggers as well. Many of us are on the road, and it’s easy to follow their journey through photos. And since there are more than 30 million registered users are out there, it gives me more chance to wide my area at the same time. But I know still it doesn’t take seriously to photographers because of various reasons. I’ll leave the decision to you.

By the way, I’m under @RunawayJuno if you want to follow my journey.
